VBS is Postponed
It is with some regret that we have made the difficult decision to delay Vacation Bible School that was to take place March 27- 29, 2012. Despite the valiant recruiting efforts of the congregation, we did not have enough children registered to present a quality experience. Because each and every child is precious and a large part of VBS is playing and learning with the other children, we felt we could not provide a valuable and well-rounded experience, given the lack of participation. While it is, of course, disappointing to have to delay VBS, I hope that no one grows dispirited by this decision.
Please consider volunteering to be a Sunday School Teacher. The following months are open: July, August and September. Please see me, Julie Fleurinor, or email me at julie.fleurinor@garrertt.edu.
What if everyone in Sunday School put just 50 cents in a jar? It could buy a flock of up to 50 baby chicks for a family in Honduras! Just one chick, as a grownup hen, can provide 200 eggs a year — plenty for this family to eat, sell or share. Just one hen can do all that! What can we do to help so many, many hungry families? Let’s get involved in The Heifer Project! Beginning this month our children will become ambassadors of Heifer International to bring health, healing and hope to the many families worldwide who suffer from hunger and poverty. We’re going to need to ask parents and family members to contribute too; so bring your ideas and your hearts to Sunday School, and let’s get started on our project to reach out to the world!
