Youth Corner
Well, it is March, or almost March or after March when you are reading this. Hopefully it is before the end of March, since there are a lot of important things that happen during this month. Most importantly, we are deep in the swing of Lent. As Advent is the time of introspection before the Birth of Jesus, Lent is the time of introspection and repentance before the resurrection of Jesus in Easter. It may seem that all we do as Christians is wait for some event to come! And while that may be true to a certain extent, we are still actively trying to grow and get better, and be more grace-filled. There are many ways that we can do this; and there are many ways that we can do this in the month of March during the time of lent!
March 7th -- March 8th -- Lock-In: Starts at 7 P.M.
Y'all know the drill! We will start at 7p.m., so all can come! Hope to see you there.
March 18th -- After Church: Hot Topics!
High Schoolers, join me after church to discuss the Lenten practice of giving stuff up. We will also discuss what biblical topics play into Lent and Easter, and any other things you would like to discuss. I'll have snacks and pop. Hope to see you there!
March 24th- 25th at 10 A.M.: 30 Hour Famine
We have been invited by the Peace Memorial Church (one of the churches that joined us for the "Up-Late" event) to join in their “30 Hour Famine.” We will fast, play, and worship with peace, and we will have a wonderful time! However, I need to know by the 18th exactly how many people would like to go. Please RSVP by March 18th so I know how many seats are needed.
As always, if you would like to help out in any way, please feel free to email me at john.baker-streevy@garrett.edu or call me at 517-914-2786 to talk to me.
Joy and Peace,
John Baker-Streevy
